Our services are intended for adults aged 18 and over who have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. By engaging our services, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
3. Description of Services
Songkran Law provides legal services in the field of Thai succession and inheritance law. Our three service offerings are:
- Estate Planning Conversation (฿2,400): An advisory session covering will drafting, beneficiary nomination, and cross-border property considerations, followed by a written summary.
- Probate Conduct with Heir Coordination (฿9,200): Full conduct of the Thai probate process, including heir communications, court filings, and administrator appointment.

Services are available to clients based in Thailand and to non-Thai nationals in connection with Thai-sited assets or estates. The exact scope of each engagement is confirmed in a written engagement letter issued prior to commencement.

All content on this website — including text, graphics, design elements, and document formats — is the property of Songkran Law and is protected under Thai intellectual property law. You may view and print pages from this website for your personal use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any content from this website without our prior written consent.
Legal documents and written summaries produced for you as part of a services engagement remain subject to professional copyright. You are licensed to use them for the purpose for which they were produced.
6. Payment Terms
Service fees are as stated on this website and in the written engagement letter. Fees are denominated in Thai Baht (฿). Payment is required in accordance with the terms set out in the engagement letter, which will specify the payment schedule and accepted methods.
Where the scope of an engagement changes materially, any revised fee will be discussed and agreed with you in writing before additional work proceeds. We do not proceed with work beyond the agreed scope without your prior authorisation.
Fees paid for services already commenced are generally non-refundable unless otherwise agreed in writing. Enquiries that do not proceed to a formal engagement carry no fee obligation.
7. Service-Specific Terms
Estate Planning Conversation: The written summary provided at the conclusion of this service represents our understanding of your wishes at the date of the conversation and is not a draft will. A will must be executed in accordance with the formal requirements of Thai law to be legally valid.
Probate Conduct: The timelines associated with court proceedings are subject to court scheduling and are outside our control. We will keep you informed of developments but cannot commit to specific completion dates.
Inheritance Litigation: Legal proceedings carry inherent uncertainty. We will advise you honestly on the strength of your position, but we cannot make any commitment as to the outcome of any court proceeding.
8. Confidentiality
We maintain strict professional confidentiality in relation to all information shared with us by clients. This obligation continues after the conclusion of any engagement. We will not disclose client information to third parties without your consent, except where required by law, court order, or our professional regulatory obligations.
9. Disclaimers
The content on this website is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. No lawyer-client relationship is formed by your use of this website or submission of an enquiry form. A formal engagement requires a written engagement letter signed by both parties.
While we take care to keep information on this website accurate and current, we make no representation as to its completeness or accuracy at any particular time. Thai law is subject to change, and content on this website may not reflect the most recent developments.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Thai law, our liability to you in connection with the use of this website is limited to direct loss actually suffered as a direct result of our negligence. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss, or for loss of profit, data, or opportunity.
Our liability in connection with legal services provided under a formal engagement is governed by the terms of that engagement and applicable Thai professional liability standards.
We are not liable for events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to court delays, regulatory changes, or failures of third-party services.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Songkran Law and its lawyers and staff from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of this website, or your provision of inaccurate information in connection with an engagement.
12. Termination
Either party may terminate an engagement by providing written notice in accordance with the terms of the engagement letter. Where we terminate an engagement, we will give reasonable notice and assist with the orderly transfer of your matter to other counsel where requested. Fees for work completed prior to termination remain payable.
We reserve the right to cease providing access to this website to any user who misuses it in a manner that is harmful, unlawful, or contrary to these Terms.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. The courts of Bangkok have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute in connection with these Terms or our services, unless alternative dispute resolution is agreed by the parties in writing.
We encourage clients to raise any concern with us informally in the first instance. Most matters can be resolved without recourse to formal proceedings.
14. General Provisions
- Entire agreement: These Terms, together with any engagement letter, constitute the entire agreement between us in relation to the subject matter and supersede all prior discussions.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms on one occasion does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it on another.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our obligations in connection with a restructuring of the practice, provided this does not materially affect your position.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of this website after any update constitutes your acknowledgement of the revised Terms. Changes to Terms applicable to an existing engagement will be communicated to the relevant client directly.
